So like most Wow gamers out there I’m a pretty skeptical person.  I mean, after all you almost have to be anymore with the way guides promise the world but rarely deliver.

However, I will admit when I saw that Dugi’s in-game guide which promised to get me from 1-70 in 7 Days (this was during Burning Crusade) I was pretty damn interested.  I had been playing a paladin for what seemed like years (probably because it was) and was ready for something different.  I wanted to be that guy everyone called upon when they needed some hardcore Dps.  In short, I wanted to be a mage.

So, as I read through Dugi’s site I noticed the guy was offered a free 1-20 trial version (this is now 1-40).  I figured since it was legal and free what the hell.  I downloaded the trial version of the guide and rolled myself a gnome mage.  Now, its been a few years but I want to say I made it to level 20 in about a day (real life time).  At that point I was friggen stoked so I bought the full version of the guide.

The next few weeks saw me spending every free moment leveling my mage and I will tell you it went fast.  All in all I made it to level 70 in right at six days.  I figured it went a little quicker for me simply because I knew my way around the game very well already but even a complete beginner will have no trouble getting to 70 in 7 days.  Now, of course the leveling cap is now 80 but not to worry because Blizzard increased xp gains since the time I used the guide for my mage plus they lowered the required level to get your mounts.

Because of all the in game changes you can now level to 80 in under 7 days using Dugi’s Ultimate Wow Guide.  And don’t forget when Cataclysm hits Dugi will be updating this guide so you can be one of the first people on your server to ding 85.

One last thing I wanted to point out to you was Dugi now offers an in-game Dungeon Leveling Guide for those of you who like to level in groups.  This guide shows you exactly where and when to pick up dungeon quests and automatically ques you for dungeons at the appropriate times.  Again, this is an IN GAME leveling guide.  There are no PDF’s with Dugi’s Ultimate Wow Guide.

So my affair with Zygor guides started about a year or so ago as part of never ending crusade to have multiple 80s across many different realms.  I had been using Dugi’s guide for quite some time but kept hearing great things about Zygor so I figured I’d check him out.

Once I got in the guide I was pretty happy with it.  It, like Dugi, used an in-game system that made leveling extremely fast.  I was able to level an alt to 80 in roughly 8 days with the system which really is quite impressive.

However, when it comes down to the nitty gritty Dugi’s got the better guide.  Zygor is A+ quality but Dugi has tons of free bonuses when you grab his guide including his Pvp guide which previously sold for $37 by itself and he gives you a slew of other free guides as well.  All in all, if you are gonna spend the money I’d recommend going with Dugi but if you don’t I think you will still be happy with your results using Zygor.

The very first Wow leveling guide I ever bought that was even worth reading was this guide here.  Notice though I said “worth reading.”  Extreme Leveling was THE guide in its hay day but that time is long gone.

Other guide owners such as Dugi and Zygor have created in-game leveling guides that older pdf format guides like this just can’t compete with.

Why do I still recommend it then?  Well, some people are anti add-ons.  For those folks who do not want to use an in-game guide (even though they are legal) they can turn to Shawn’s Extreme Leveling guide instead.

It has some awesome quest tracks laid out as well as tips and tricks to speed the process up even with all the help I doubt you are going to see 80 any quicker than 10-12 days play time and even that might be a little optimistic.  So again, this guide is only right for you if you are anti add-on.
